What kind of
things do you have for my kids to do during service?
For children 0-3 at
all services we have nursery. On Sunday’s there are kids Sunday school classes
as well as youth group classes for teenagers. Thursday’s mid-week service we
have Praise Kids and Carpe Diem youth group.
Do I have to
dress up to come to service?
No. Wear whatever
clothing you are comfortable in as long as it is tasteful. We are not a church
that is into appearances and understand that “man looks at the outward
appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7).
Where do I park
and is it free?
On most occasions,
we share a large parking lot with Martin’s Lumber across the street from the
church, after their normal business hours. Also there is ample street parking
along California St. and Lombard St. Parking is generally free.
What denomination
is Praise Chapel affiliated with?
None. Praise Chapel
is a non-denominational church, but we would describe ourselves as full gospel
meaning we strive to incorporate every aspect of the Bible into our ministry and
lives. We are also one church in a fellowship of churches called
Praise Chapel Christian Fellowship
International.
Am I expected to
contribute to the offering?
We do not expect any
of our visitors to contribute to the offering. If you are simply visiting the
congregation your free will offerings are appreciated but you are under no
obligation to give. However, if you are a member of our congregation or call
Praise Chapel “my church,” your tithes and offerings should be given. If you
derive benefit from the house you should contribute to the house.
I've been to some
weird churches, will I see anything weird going on if I come to Praise Chapel?
Besides the
occasional animal sacrifice (just kidding), we are pretty much normal
down-to-earth folks. Of course everyone’s definition of “weird” varies, but to
our knowledge there are no nuts, fruits, or flakes here, well, with the
exception of Bro Ron. But we don't usually let him out of the basement until a
few minutes before service, and then only after filing his fangs and feeding him
a pound of raw meat laced with Thorazine.
