Praise Chapel of Wa., was founded on March 15, 1991 by Pastors Tyrone and Mary Garay, from Sun Valley, California. Praise Chapel of Wa., is one church among a global fellowship of churches called Praise Chapel Christian Fellowship International. In 1990, pastors Tyrone and Mary came to the Northwest with the vision of “win, build, and send,” deep in their hearts: to win disciples to the Lord, to build them into spiritually mature men and women equipped for the work of the ministry, and to send them into the harvest fields of the world to fulfill the Great Commission. Since its inception Praise Chapel of Wa., has planted successful works in Ashkelon, Israel and Nuuuli, American Samoa.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to fulfill the Great Commission set forth by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.”

We summarize our mission with the phrase: “Win, Build, and Send”:

WIN:  At Praise Chapel, we are committed to meeting and accepting you where you are at. There is no such thing as a perfect person and we will not impose unrealistic standards upon you. As you walk through our doors our motto is “come as you are”,  and grow with us in faith, character, and the knowledge of God.

BUILD:  We believe that God endows every person with unique skills, abilities, and talents that can be utilized in the building and advancement of His Kingdom. Under this consideration, we make it our responsibility to ensure that each person that walks through our doors has an opportunity to fully develop their God-given potential. Here at Praise Chapel we are committed to your success.

SEND:  An essential part of our vision is that once an individual has reached a certain level of spiritual maturity and has grown in stature in the local church body, they are ready to be sent into ministry. This “sending” can be defined in several ways. Some may continue to minister within the local body in various facets, while others are launched into missionary and church planting endeavors both domestic and abroad.

HISTORY:

The history of Praise Chapel is rich with the planting of our mission right from the very beginning.

Praise Chapel is a Family of Fellowships of Churches and Ministries International. Linked together through relationships that have come out of local churches with a  vision to evangelize the lost, disciple the believers and multiply through church planting. Win-Build-Send clearly states our purpose.

Praise Chapel began with one church in Maywood, California 1976. Pastors Mike and Donna Neville moved to the Los Angeles area from Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The area of the church was very strongly gang and drug infested.  Within a few years God began to move in a very special way as gang members and their families began to be saved.  Soon the church was filled with people on fire for God who went out side the church into the streets and neighborhoods of the Los Angeles area preaching the gospel and seeing souls saved.

Following what God was doing, Mike and Donna began to train pastors and send them out into the various areas of Los Angeles to start new churches. God blessed these new pastors and churches as they reached the unsaved and unchurched people.

Today Praise Chapel Family of Fellowships has multiplied into many areas of the United States and the world. With over 195 churches in the United States and hundreds more in over 25 nations.  Praise Chapel has become a "Family of Fellowships." What started with one church, became a Fellowship of churches and now has multiplied into a "Family of Fellowships" all over the world.

Every two years Praise Chapel Family of Fellowships join together for a World Bible Conference. Next year, July 2010, is the next conference in Phoenix, Arizona.  Along with this World Conference, the various Fellowship that have been raised-up, also have Bible Conference in many places in the United States and other countries throughout the world.

Praise Chapel is an on going and growing story as New Churches are being started continually and Fellowships of Churches continue to develop and increase. It is a Book of Acts story being written today.
